Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Iron Sights Academy for? Do I need prior experience with firearms?
No prior experience is required. Our basic courses are designed for beginners and cover everything from firearm safety, safe handling, and basic shooting fundamentals.
Do I need to own a firearm to attend a training course?
No. You do not need to own a firearm. We provide firearms and necessary equipment for training (or ensure availability), so that new shooters can learn without needing to have a weapon already.
What kind of training does ISA offer?
We offer beginner-level firearms safety and handling courses. Training includes theoretical safety instruction, practical handling, shooting fundamentals (stance, grip, aiming, trigger control), and safe firearm use.
What safety rules are in place to keep everyone safe?
Safety is our top priority. Participants must follow all instructions from instructors/range officers. Fundamental safety rules include: always treat a firearm as loaded, keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, and wear eye and ear protection.
Are there age requirements to take these courses?
Yes. Participants must meet a minimum age requirement (depending on local laws). For young participants (minors), parental or guardian supervision may be required. If minors are allowed, a responsible adult must accompany them.
Where is the range?
How long is a typical basic training course?
Course duration may vary, but beginner-level courses typically take a few hours to one full day depending on content (safety instruction, practical handling, live fire) and schedule.
